ScienceDirect Orientation Supports SE Mechanical Students in Field Project Research

To strengthen research skills among undergraduate students, the Learning and Information Resource Centre (LIRC) conducted an orientation programme on Elsevier ScienceDirect for 38 Second-Year Mechanical Engineering students undertaking their Field Project.

The session was coordinated with the support of Mr. Yunus Dalal, who encouraged students to integrate scholarly literature into their project work.

Students explored:

Scientific journal collections
Engineering research articles
Search refinement techniques
Citation tracking
Downloading and organizing research papers

The programme highlighted the significance of evidence-based learning and encouraged students to develop strong research habits from the early stages of their engineering education.
