  The Learning and Information Resource Centre (LIRC), SFIT, organized a Hands-on Training Programme on Elsevier ScienceDirect for 98 B.E. Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students . The training was delivered by Mr. Girish Kulkarni, Associate Director – Sales, GIST , who demonstrated practical techniques for searching and accessing high-quality scientific literature. Students received hands-on experience in: Advanced database searching Research paper retrieval Search alerts Literature review strategies Identifying relevant journals Maximizing the use of ScienceDirect for project research The interactive session enabled students to gain practical exposure to one of the most widely used engineering research databases, preparing them for academic research and lifelong learning.
