Empowering Final-Year Mechanical Engineering Students with Elsevier Science Direct for Major Project Research
The Learning and Information Resource Centre (LIRC), St. Francis Institute of Technology, organized an orientation session on Elsevier ScienceDirect for 28 B.E. Mechanical Engineering students to support their Major Project research activities.
The session was conducted in the presence of Dr. Ravindra Garmode, who encouraged students to effectively utilize scholarly resources for identifying research gaps, reviewing literature, and strengthening their project work.
Students were introduced to:
- Accessing high-quality peer-reviewed journals
- Advanced search strategies
- Downloading full-text research articles
- Using filters for precise literature searches
- Best practices for conducting literature reviews
The orientation emphasized the importance of authentic scientific literature in developing innovative engineering solutions and preparing industry-ready research projects.
