The Learning and Information Resource Centre (LIRC), St. Francis Institute of Technology, successfully conducted an orientation programme on Elsevier ScienceDirect for students from multiple engineering departments under the able guidance of Ms. Preethi Colaco, Asst. Prof. Department of Basic Science and Humanities.
A total of 184 students participated:
- Mechanical Engineering – 73
- Electrical Engineering – 25
- ECS – 36
- ExTC – 50
The session introduced students to:
- Accessing international engineering journals
- Effective literature searching
- Advanced filtering techniques
- Downloading scholarly articles
- Supporting field projects and academic assignments
The programme aimed to build strong research foundations and promote the effective use of digital library resources across engineering disciplines.
