🚀 Call for Proposals 2026: Turning IoT Innovations into Real-World Solutions

IIT Bombay Invites High-TRL IoT Innovations for Deployment and Commercialization

The journey of an innovative technology does not end with a successful prototype. The real impact begins when that technology moves from the laboratory into the field, solves a genuine problem, and reaches the people and industries that need it.

Recognizing this need, TIH at IIT Bombay has announced TDP 11 – Call for Proposals 2026, inviting faculty members, researchers, research institutions, universities, and eligible startups across India to develop and advance application-oriented IoT technologies with strong potential for validation, deployment, and commercialization.

💡 What Does the Opportunity Offer?

Selected projects can receive substantial support to take mature IoT technologies closer to real-world implementation.

  • 💰 Project Grant: Up to ₹50 Lakhs

  • ⏳ Project Duration: Up to 12 months

  • ⚙️ Technology Readiness Level: TRL 6 and above

  • 🤝 Commercialization Support: Available

  • 🏭 Industry Partner: Desirable for deployment, validation, and commercialization

The focus is therefore not merely on developing an idea, but on transforming a validated technology into a solution that can be deployed, tested, adopted, and potentially commercialized.

🌐 Key Focus Areas

The call covers a wide range of applications where IoT can create measurable real-world impact:

🌱 Agriculture & AgriTech
Innovative technologies for smarter, more efficient and sustainable agriculture.

💧 Water Management
IoT-enabled solutions for monitoring, conservation and efficient management of water resources.

🏥 Healthcare & MedTech
Connected technologies that can contribute to better healthcare delivery, monitoring and management.

🏭 Industrial IoT
Solutions aimed at improving industrial processes, productivity, automation and operational efficiency.

🚚 Supply Chain & Logistics
Connected systems for tracking, monitoring, optimization and improved supply-chain visibility.

💡 Emerging IoT Applications
Innovative applications addressing new and evolving challenges through connected technologies.

🎯 Who Should Consider Applying?

This opportunity is particularly relevant for innovators who have already moved beyond the conceptual stage.

If you have a validated prototype or mature IoT technology, and are looking for support to move toward:

Prototype → Field Validation → Deployment → Industry Adoption → Commercialization

this call could provide an important pathway.

An industry partner is desirable because successful commercialization often requires more than technical excellence—it requires real-world validation, user feedback, deployment environments and an understanding of market needs.

📅 Important Deadline

Application Deadline: 31 October 2026

Researchers, academic institutions, startups and technology innovators working on high-TRL IoT solutions should review the eligibility criteria and proposal requirements carefully before applying.

🚀 From Innovation to Impact

India has a growing ecosystem of researchers, startups and institutions developing technologies that can address real societal and industrial challenges.

The next challenge is taking these innovations out of the laboratory and into the real world.

For those working on a high-TRL IoT solution with measurable impact, the TDP 11 Call for Proposals 2026 offers an opportunity to take that next step—from technology readiness to real-world readiness.

If your IoT innovation is ready for its next chapter, this is a call worth exploring.
