Online Session on IPR, Patents & Design Filing A Knowledge-Sharing Initiative with 1000+ Registrations



The Learning & Information Resource Centre (LIRC) and Research & Development Cell (R&D Cell) of St. Francis Institute of Technology (SFIT), in collaboration with RGNIIPM, Nagpur and NIPAM, successfully organized an Online Session on IPR and Patents and Design Filing on 5 August 2026.

The session witnessed an overwhelming response with 1000+ registrations, demonstrating the growing interest among students, faculty, researchers and the academic community in Intellectual Property Rights and the protection of innovations.

💡 Understanding IPR & Innovation Protection

Intellectual Property Rights play a vital role in transforming ideas and research outcomes into valuable intellectual assets. The session focused on creating awareness about Intellectual Property Rights, patents and design filing, helping participants understand the importance of protecting original ideas, inventions and designs.

The programme provided participants with valuable insights into the fundamentals of IPR and the significance of appropriate intellectual property protection in today's research- and innovation-driven environment.

For students and researchers, understanding the patent and design filing process is an important step towards taking research and innovation beyond the laboratory and classroom.

The collaboration between RGNIIPM, NIPAM, SFIT LIRC and the R&D Cell provided an effective platform for participants to learn about an important aspect of the research and innovation ecosystem.

e PG Pathshala: A Gateway to all Post Graduate Courses

1.What is e-PGPathshala? e-PGPathshala is a one portal under which High quality, curriculum-based,interactive content in different subjects across all disciplines of social sciences, arts, fine arts & humanities, natural & mathematical sciences, linguistics and languages is being developed.An MHRD, under its National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-ICT), has assigned work to the UGC for development of e-content in 77 subjects at postgraduate level.
