Library to Readiness 2026: “The Library Times”

Read • Research • Verify • Publish

What happens when a library becomes a newsroom, research hub and creative studio? 📰📚✨

The Learning & Information Resource Centre (LIRC), St. Francis Institute of Technology, brought this idea to life through “Library to Readiness 2026 – The Library Times”, an innovative library engagement activity for non-teaching staff.

Four departments enthusiastically participated:

🔹 FE (BSH) 🔹 ELEC 🔹 INFT 🔹 CMPN

📰 From Readers to Publishers!

Each department worked as an editorial team and created a four-page newspaper using library resources. Participants explored books, reference materials, newspapers, magazines, NPTEL, NDLI, AICTE e-Kumbh, ScienceDirect and other scholarly resources.

Their newspapers featured:

📌 Front Page News
📖 Book Reviews
🔬 Research Simplified
🎓 NPTEL Spotlight
🗞️ Magazine Digest
✅ Fact Check
💡 Did You Know?
🧩 Puzzle & Quiz Corner

🔍 More Than Just a Newspaper

The activity encouraged participants to search, read, cross-check, verify and present information—an especially important skill in today's AI-driven information environment.

From Smart Grids and Renewable Energy to Cybersecurity, RAG and Engineering Fundamentals, the teams transformed academic information into engaging and accessible content.

🌟 Learning. Creativity. Teamwork. Discovery.

The Library Times demonstrated that a library is much more than a place to find books. It is a space where ideas are discovered, information is verified and knowledge is created.

A big appreciation to all the participating teams for making Library to Readiness 2026 a vibrant and meaningful learning experience! 👏
