What if the next great idea is waiting for you—not on a screen, but between the pages of a book?
We are delighted to announce the commencement of “Faculty Recommends – Read Beyond AI”, a mission dedicated to rekindling the culture of reading, exploration and independent learning among our students.
Today, technology has transformed the way we access knowledge. With AI tools and search engines, information is available within seconds. But learning is much more than finding an answer.
It is about asking better questions, exploring different perspectives, making connections and discovering something for yourself.
And that is where books and libraries continue to hold a special place.
📚 From “Find the Answer” to “Discover the Knowledge”
Faculty Recommends – Read Beyond AI is an initiative that brings faculty recommendations closer to students and encourages them to explore the library as a space for discovery.
Our faculty members are recommending books that can help students go beyond classroom notes and quick digital answers:
- Ms. Monika Cheema – ExTC A
Analog and Digital Communication - Ms. Valentina Rani Basker – ExTC
Foundation of Security - Dr. Anjana Ranjan – ECS / ExTC A
Discrete Time Signal Processing - Dr. Mrinmoyee Mukherjee – INFT
AI & Data Science II - Ms. Amrita Mathur – INFT B / INFT A
AI & Data Science II / CNS
These recommendations are not merely a list of books. They are doors to deeper learning.
🌱 Building a Culture of Reading
One of the key aspirations of this mission is to increase library utilization and encourage students to make the library an active part of their academic journey.
We want to see students:
📖 Browsing shelves with curiosity
🔎 Comparing different references
📝 Making notes and marking important concepts
💡 Discovering perspectives beyond their prescribed curriculum
🤝 Discussing what they have read with peers and faculty
📚 Returning to the library because they have found something worth exploring
The library should not be just a place where books are stored.
It should be a place where ideas come alive.
🤖 Beyond AI, Towards Deeper Learning
AI is an incredible tool. It can help us access, organize and understand information faster.
But there is a beautiful difference between getting an answer and discovering knowledge.
A book invites us to slow down.
To follow an argument.
To encounter a different perspective.
To question what we already know.
To connect ideas.
And sometimes, to stumble upon an idea we weren't even looking for.
That experience is timeless.
🌟 A Mission Worth Celebrating
We congratulate all the faculty members who have taken the first step in making Faculty Recommends – Read Beyond AI a meaningful learning movement.
And to our students, our message is simple:
Don't just ask AI for the answer.
Visit the library. Pick up a book. Explore. Question. Discover.
Because the future belongs not only to those who can access information, but to those who know how to learn from it.
📚 Faculty Recommends – Read Beyond AI
From screens to shelves.
From answers to questions.
From information to understanding.
From using knowledge to discovering it.
Let us read beyond AI. Let us learn beyond the obvious.
