📚 Book Bank Facility for AY 2026–2027


Empowering Students with Easy Access to Learning Resources

The Learning and Information Resource Centre (LIRC), St. Francis Institute of Technology (Engineering College) is pleased to announce the Book Bank Facility for Academic Year 2026–2027.

The Book Bank Scheme enables students to borrow prescribed textbooks for the semester, ensuring access to essential learning resources while reducing the cost of purchasing textbooks. We encourage all eligible students to take advantage of this valuable facility and begin the semester well-prepared.


📚 Types of Book Bank

The Learning and Information Resource Centre offers the following Book Bank facilities to support the academic and career aspirations of SFIT students:

1. 📘 SFIT Book Bank

  • Open to all SFIT students.

  • Provides prescribed textbooks for the current academic year/semester.

  • Helps students access essential course material without the need to purchase textbooks.

2. 🎓 University of Mumbai Book Bank

  • Open to SC/ST/DT/NT students of SFIT.

  • Provides prescribed textbooks for the current academic year/semester.

  • Available as per the guidelines of the University of Mumbai.

3. 🚀 Competitive Exams Book Bank

  • Open to all SFIT students preparing for competitive examinations.

  • Includes books for examinations such as:

    • GATE

    • GRE

    • UPSC

    • CAT

    • IELTS

    • TOEFL

    • and other competitive examinations.

  • Supports students pursuing higher studies, government services, and career advancement.


📅 Book Collection Schedule

For S.E., T.E. & B.E. Students

Collection Period: 15 July – 31 July 2026

Collection Time:

  • 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM, or

  • 1:15 PM – 2:00 PM

For F.E. Students

The Book Bank Facility will commence after the allotment of the Permanent PID Number. The schedule will be announced separately.


📖 Important Information

  • Return Due Date: 15 January 2027 (Friday)

  • Late Fine: ₹1 per book per day

  • Eligibility: Valid SFIT Library Members only.

  • Books will be issued on a First-Come, First-Served Basis.


📚 Book Care Guidelines

Students are requested to take proper care of the books issued under the Book Bank Scheme.

  • ✔ Keep books clean and in good condition.

  • ✔ Cover books if required.

  • ❌ Do not write, underline, highlight, fold pages, or damage the books.

  • ⚠ Damaged books may attract a ₹100 penalty per book and/or the replacement cost of the book.

e PG Pathshala: A Gateway to all Post Graduate Courses

1.What is e-PGPathshala? e-PGPathshala is a one portal under which High quality, curriculum-based,interactive content in different subjects across all disciplines of social sciences, arts, fine arts & humanities, natural & mathematical sciences, linguistics and languages is being developed.An MHRD, under its National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-ICT), has assigned work to the UGC for development of e-content in 77 subjects at postgraduate level.
