National Mathematics Day is celebrated on December 22 in honour of Srinivas Ramanujan, the pioneer of mathematics. This day was declared on February 26, 2012, by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He also announced the year 2012 as the National Mathematics Year. Ever since, National Mathematics Day is celebrated all around the country.
