Project and Research Help for Faculty and Students of Engineering

(Image created and uploaded by SFIT Library)

The word “Shodh” originates from Sanskrit and stands for “research and discovery”. “Gangotri”  is one of the largest glacier in the Himalayas and source of origination of Ganges, the holiest, longest and largest of rivers in India. The Ganges is the symbol of age-long culture, civilization, ever-aging, ever-flowing, ever-loving and loved by its people.
Under the initiative called “ShodhGangotri”, research scholars / research supervisors in universities are requested to deposit electronic version of approved synopsis submitted by research scholars to the universities for registering themselves for the Ph.D programme. The repository on one hand, would reveal the trends and directions of research being conducted in Indian universities, on the other hand it would avoid duplication of research. Synopsis in “ShodhGangotri” would later be mapped to full-text theses in "ShodhGanga". As such, once the full-text thesis is submitted for a synopsis, a link to the full-text theses would be provided from ShodhGangotri to "ShodhGanga"

Project and Research Help for Faculty and Students of Engineering

Shodhganga: a reservoir of Indian Theses @ INFLIBNET

Research: The word itself implies RE-SEARCH i.e. rebuild, refine and enhance.
Search if it is guided in a proper direction yields fruitful results. As said earlier, to build upon, we need a strong foundation of the already existing literature.

Here's to the first dip in literature - the building blocks

1) Shodhganga

The Shodhganga@INFLIBNET Centre provides a platform for research students to deposit their Ph.D. theses and make it available to the entire scholarly community in open access. The repository has the ability to capture, index, store, disseminate and preserve ETDs submitted by the researcher.

A day in the Library

A DAY IN THE LIBRARY

"Everything you need for better future and success has already been written. And guess what? All you have to do is go to the library" - Henri Frederic Amiel

How apt is the quote! Every individual who loves to read books has a story to tell - about books, about the time he / she spent in the library and the atmosphere therein. A library is after all a place which has in store many people living in perfect harmony. And what's more, you get to choose what you want to read.

Did you ever think of thanking that librarian and forgot all about it or more precisely never had an opportunity to bring your thoughts into action....This is the right time to thank your librarian. We in turn are pleased to provide you a platform which would record your thoughts and your experiences. So come forward and share your experiences and let everybody know about it.

All the same, we would love to know how a library and for that matter - any library - your school library, college library, public library etc. have been memorable to you. And so, we are gathering stories from all over about:

1) how libraries have impacted you
2) any special instance / service of your library which you liked / remember

The above stories should necessarily be your personal reminiscences. Although this would be an ongoing project, I request all of you to please contribute your story at your earliest and make this initiative a grand success.

I request everybody and especially the librarians to share this page and the URL link with the maximum no. of people in your Institute and vicinity.
