Open Book Test on VLSI Design Encourages Research-Based Learning

The Learning and Information Resource Centre (LIRC), SFIT NDLI Club, successfully conducted an Open Book Test on VLSI Design for 59 Third-Year ECS students on 4 August 2026 . The activity encouraged students to move beyond memorization by applying concepts, analyzing information, and utilizing library resources effectively. Through this initiative, students: Strengthened conceptual understanding Improved information retrieval skills Developed analytical thinking Utilized scholarly learning resources during assessment Experienced outcome-based learning practices Open Book Tests continue to promote critical thinking and independent learning, reinforcing the role of the library as an active partner in engineering education.
