Drop Everything and Read - Report 2021-2022

The D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) was initiated by our respected Principal Madam – Dr. Sincy George on the eve of Reading Inspiration Day i.e. 15th October 2022. This initiative is steadily gaining momentum after the Lockdown norms were relaxed. The Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) strategy involves getting learners to stop what they are doing and read for 10 to 20 minutes. It is a method that helps build learners’ literacy skills (especially when learners can select their book or journal). However, it is also useful for assisting learners in getting more depth of knowledge (DOK) on a subject being taught when you give them all an article or book to read to help them gain more insight for subsequent parts of the lesson. Ms. Bidisha Roy (Associate Prof. – CMPN) and Dr. Vaishali Jadhav (Associate Prof. – INFT) were our D.E.A.R. learners for the period October 2021 to June 2022.
