📚 World Book and Copyright Day -23rd April 2025: Report

Date: 23rd April 2025 Time: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Location: 2nd Floor, B Wing, LIRC ✨ Event Overview On the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day , SFIT Library organized a Book Exhibition and Takeaway as well as a Quiz on Plagiarism . The initiative aimed to cultivate a strong reading habit, educate students about the importance of respecting intellectual property, and highlight the significance of honest academic work. 🎯 Objectives Encourage and foster reading habits among students. Promote awareness about copyright issues. Educate students on plagiarism and its prevention. Enable sharing of knowledge through book donations from staff and ex-students. 👥 Participation Book & Magazine Takeaway: 82 Beneficiaries Quiz on Plagiarism: 68 Responses 🏁 Outcome The initiative was well-received and sparked interest in both reading and academic integrity. Suggestions were made to organize more such events, to further engage students and staff.

National Librarians Day 2023 - Report

The famous author, R. David Lankes has said,"To be a librarian is not to be neutral, or passive, or waiting for a question. It is to be a radical positive change agent within your community." To commemorate this true spirit of librarians on the Librarians' Day and to pay tribute to the Father of Library Science in India - Dr. S.R. Ranganathan on 12th August 2023, the Learning and Information Resource Centre (LIRC) of St.Francis Institute of Technology arranged for an exciting Participatory Session for students and faculty members. The main organisers for the event was the Central Library.  Our students from Third Year and Final Year were selected for the event as they are the ones majorly making a mark in the library literally and otherwise with their footfalls and enthusiasm. Reading Inspiration Day 15th October 2022 - Report

Date: 10th October to 13th October 2022 Event: Books Exhibition 425 books donated by gracious persons were displayed. Students, staff and faculty gave a huge response by participating in this exhibition in large numbers. READING INSPIRATION DAY 2021 We salute APJ Abdul Kalam and celebrate his monumental achievements as a Scientist, Scholar and the President of India. We fondly remember his passion for teaching education and for reading. Dr. Kalam truly ignited young minds with the power to think and innovate.
