Rediscovering the Library: A Bold Step Toward Mindful Learning at SFIT

In an era where the flicker of screens has replaced the rustle of pages, libraries often sit quietly in the background—overshadowed, underused, and forgotten. But at St. Francis Institute of Technology (SFIT), we believe in breathing new life into old traditions.

Our Library isn’t just a place for books—it's a center for innovation, reflection, and active learning. As part of our Best Practices, faculty members across departments regularly conduct Open Book Tests, Subject Quizzes, and critical thinking sessions—all within the walls of our library.

These sessions aren’t just exams; they are carefully designed experiences that:

  • Encourage students to read, reflect, and reason instead of memorize.

  • Cultivate a habit of exploring beyond the classroom.

  • Reinforce the value of printed knowledge and silence.

  • Foster collaborative and independent learning, simultaneously.

And yes, there’s a powerful rule—No Mobile Phones Allowed. Just books, brains, and a shared commitment to learning.

This is our way of rekindling love for libraries and building future-ready minds. Because while technology may evolve, the spirit of learning remains timeless.

At SFIT, we don’t let libraries fade into history—we make them part of the future.
