🌱 Kaveri Vaaman: India’s First Mutant Banana and the Power of Indigenous Research The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has achieved a remarkable milestone in agricultural science with the development of Kaveri Vaaman (Trombay Banana Mutant‑9 / TBM‑9) — India’s first-ever mutant banana variety. This achievement marks BARC’s first fruit crop released under its mutation‑breeding programme and adds to its legacy of 72 improved crop varieties released to date.
