📚 Event Overview
On the occasion of National Reading Day, the Learning and
Information Resource Centre (LIRC) at SFIT organized an enriching online
session titled “Reading Innovations: Embracing the Future of Libraries”.
The session featured Dr. Paritosh D. Pawar, an esteemed academic
librarian from KET’s V.G. Vaze College, as the resource person.
With an audience of 50 participants, this initiative aimed to shed
light on innovative strategies for library services that can deepen user
engagement, nurture reading habits, and foster a culture of academic and
leisure reading.
🎯 Objectives
The webinar focused on:
- Exploring
innovative approaches in library services.
- Understanding
ways to cater to diverse user needs.
- Focusing on the
role of digital and interactive platforms in fostering a reading culture.

low-pressure space for leisure and reflective reading.
- Aims to foster
independent reading habits and mental well‑being.
3️⃣ Themed Displays
- Monthly book
displays based on social themes, authors, or special academic events.
- Enables
students and staff to explore lesser-known titles and broadens their
subject-based interests.

🌟 Outcome
This initiative sparked valuable conversations about the role of

introducing ideas such as Book Talks, Reading Corners, and Themed Displays, the

books and knowledge.
