Celebrating Innovation — Best Project Reports Display at SFIT Library

From July 14 to 31, the SFIT Learning and Information Resource Centre showcased the Best Project Reports submitted by our talented students. This display highlights not just academic achievements but also creativity, perseverance, and problem-solving skills that define future innovators.

Project reports are crucial because they transform ideas into practical solutions, and seeing top-quality work encourages everyone to raise their own standards.

In the words of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam:
"Creativity is the key to success in the future, and primary education is where teachers can bring creativity in children at that level."

This collection celebrates the creative spirit and technical expertise of our students.

Why should you check it out?

  • Learn how to organize and present your research clearly and effectively.

  • Get inspired by innovative ideas that might spark your own project.

  • Appreciate how teamwork and interdisciplinary approaches lead to strong outcomes.

As Dr. Kalam also said,
"Dream, dream, dream. Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action."

Let these projects be the inspiration for your own dreams and actions!

πŸ’ Tales & Thoughts: From Crypto to Conscious Living

Time: 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM

Venue: Library
Organized by: Learning and Information Resource Centre

🧭 Bridging the Gap: From What's Trending to What Truly Matters

In a world driven by fast-changing trends and digital noise, Tales & Thoughts continues to be a safe, stimulating space where students and faculty come together to reflect on deeper questions—of value, identity, and conscious living.

Our latest session, titled "From Crypto to Conscious Living," was a vibrant and thought-provoking journey through the intersections of finance, culture, emotion, and human values.

πŸ” What We Explored

The conversation flowed freely, but a few standout threads defined our hour-and-a-half together:

  • Quants & Bitcoin – Are we investing in real value, or merely swept by hype?

  • Jane Street Scam – What happens when trust is breached in financial systems?

  • Why Do Economies Take Center Stage? – Is money the only metric of meaning?

  • Universal Human Values (UHV) – Are we chasing products or principles?

  • The Power of Belonging – How does being part of a group shape our identity?

  • Instagram Reels – A celebration of diversity or just algorithmic mimicry?

  • The Need for Introspection – Why self-reflection can’t be optional anymore

  • Idolizing Influencers & Icons – Where do we draw the line?

  • Logic vs. Emotion – Must we always choose one over the other?

  • Conscious Living – How do we shift from autopilot to awareness?

πŸ“š Bonus Gem

The session concluded with a gentle recommendation:
“I Found a Lighthouse” by Shantanu Naidu – a reflective read on compassion, purpose, and learning from unexpected mentors.

🧠 The Core Takeaway

“In a fast-moving world, sessions like these help us pause, reflect, and realign—from what's trending to what truly matters.”

Tales & Thoughts isn’t just another discussion circle—it’s a reminder that meaning still matters. That it’s okay to question, to feel, and to think slowly in a world obsessed with speed.

🌟 Tales & Thoughts: Inaugural Session Recap

A Spontaneous Spark of Curiosity and Conversation

The first-ever session of Tales & Thoughts took place on 17th July 2025 in the cozy corners of our campus library. With 21 eager participants — a vibrant mix of staff and students — the session kicked off without a set agenda or theme, letting the conversation flow naturally and organically.

What Made It Special?

Without a predefined topic, the discussions were refreshingly impromptu and candid. The energy in the room was infectious, fueled by curiosity, humor, and genuine engagement.

Highlights included:

  • Participants bursting into laughter over ChatGPT’s poetic advice, reminding us how AI can surprise and delight in unexpected ways.

  • Faculty members playfully pondering if AI might secretly dream of becoming a teacher someday — a whimsical reflection on technology’s evolving role in education.

  • Thoughtful debates around ethics and originality in the age of AI, questioning what it means to be creative and authentic when machines contribute to the conversation.

  • The delightful discovery that even ChatGPT isn’t perfect — yes, it fails too!

Why This Matters

Tales & Thoughts aims to create a welcoming space where everyone can share, question, and reflect—no matter how big or small the thought. Our inaugural gathering proved that sometimes the best conversations are the ones that happen spontaneously, without filters or scripts.

Looking Ahead

This is just the beginning! We invite all students and staff to join the next sessions, where we’ll continue exploring ideas, sharing stories, and connecting minds. Whether you come with prepared thoughts or just an open mind, there’s a place for you here.

Stay Tuned!

Next session: 30th July 2025
