AICTE to set up 10 cells in tier 2, 3 institutes across India for startups

Pune, June 22 (KNN) The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to set up ten 'Indovation' cells in tier 2 and 3 institutions across the country, chairman of AICTE T G Sitharam said on Wednesday.

Abhay Jere, vice chairman of AICTE and chief innovation officer at the ministry of education said, “These Indovation cells will scout for technologies in tier 2 and 3 institutions of our country and help them scale up the technology, in commercialisation and converting into startups.”

“For the Indovation cell, we already have infrastructure in place and funding has been approved. As for the placement portal, many industries have approached. We will be giving pre-placement interview training to these students so that they can successfully appear for the interviews," Sitharam said.

As per reports, AICTE in collaboration with the ministry of education's innovation cell is organising innovation, design, and entrepreneurship (IDE) boot camps in six locations today.

The boot camp will be inaugurated by minister of education Dharmendra Pradhan in College of Engineering Pune Technological University and will be telecast live across social media platforms. (KNN Bureau)

Machine-Learning Tool Easily Spots ChatGPT’s Writing ChatGPT’s academic papers were caught 99 percent of the time

Since OpenAI launched its ChatGPT chatbot in November 2022, it has been used by people to help them write everything from poems, to work emails, to research papers. Yet, while ChatGPT may masquerade as a human, the inaccuracy of its writing can introduce errors that could be devastating if used for serious tasks like academic writing.

A team of researchers from the University of Kansas has developed a tool to weed out AI-generated academic writing from the stuff penned by people, with over 99 percent accuracy. This work was published on 7 June in the journal Cell Reports Physical Science.

Heather Desaire, a professor of chemistry at the University of Kansas and lead author of the new paper, says...
