101 FREE ONLINE JOURNAL AND RESEARCH DATABASES FOR ACADEMICS

This resource was designed to help students, academics, and researchers access the information they need without having to subscribe to an expensive service. The directories, databases, and repositories in this list are all free to use (though some require that you sign up first). We have focused on services that catalog free access and open access journals; most of the sites on the list offer at least some such resources, and the items highlighted in green offer exclusively free or open access resources. The online journal and research databases in this list are organized by discipline for ease of reference.

Open Access Journal - IEEE Access

IEEE Access® is a multidisciplinary, applications-oriented, all-electronic archival journal that continuously presents the results of original research or development across all of IEEE's fields of interest. Supported by author publication fees, its hallmarks are a rapid peer review and publication process with open access to all readers.

This journal is 100% open access, which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or their institutions. All articles are currently published under Creative Commons licenses (either CCBY or CCBY-NC-ND), and the author retains copyright. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles published under CCBY, or use them for any other lawful purpose, as long as proper attribution is given.    Articles published under CCBY-NC-ND are also available to users under the same conditions as CCBY, but the reuse cannot be for commercial purposes or change the work in any way.

Resources for Research - Series 4 (Google Scholar)

5) Google Scholar is a freely accessible bibliographic database which facilitates easy access to the metadata of scholarly published content. It allows a researcher / author to upload bibliographic data of his / her publications for enhanced visibility. The most important feature of Google Scholar is the metrics i.e. the h-index and the number of citations received for your published article. These citation metrics are updated automatically. An alert is raised when someone cites your publication. You can also choose to keep your profile public or limit the visibility as per your desire.

For more about Google Scholar Citations, please check:
